Road Expo – Run FOR the Industry BY the Industry

For the first time, the UK’s key associations and industry bodies regulating the traffic and transport industry have come together as part of an advisory panel to help deliver a series of leading events for the industry in the UK and Ireland. Road Expo is a brand new series of regional shows comprising an exhibition and a comprehensive and current seminar programme.

Road Expo will take place annually in Scotland, London and the North of England and every 18 months in Ireland. The high profile panel consists of none other than the Highways Agency, County Surveyors Society, The Institute of Highways & Transportation, The Institute of Highways Incorporated Engineers, the Scottish Executive and TRL. Leading industry publication, Highways Magazine, are supporters of the event.

By delivering regional events, professionals from all over the UK and Ireland will benefit from the chance to attend seminars providing essential legislative updates, case studies and best practice guidance; view all the latest developments in traffic and transport technology; seek advice from the experts; and network with suppliers and colleagues alike. The high level programme which is currently ‘work in progress’ will include topics such as the Traffic Management Act, road safety, sustainability, procurement and even a debate on utilities and streetworks. The programme for Scotland will include specific issues such as the Transport Scotland Bill. The confirmed programme will be available shortly on www.road-expo.com

Geoff Allister, Vice President, County Surveyors Society had this to say of Road Expo…"The CSS is pleased to support these exhibitions which will offer an opportunity for transportation professionals to acquire and exchange knowledge and experience related to all aspects of highways management"

The shows will also incorporate some exciting additional features including an Outside Display Area to exhibit large equipment and vehicles. This will allow visitors a unique opportunity to view and test equipment they might not otherwise see. Plus exhibitors will have a chance to showcase other products and services on the show floor at the Live Demonstration Area. Half an hour slots within the area will be used to demonstrate the latest innovations.

Leading suppliers booked at either one or more of the events include… Addagrip Ltd, Applied Traffic, Border Barrier Systems Ltd, Cleftbridge Coatings, Dambach UK Ltd, Data Display, Geofirma Soils Engineering Ltd, Golden River Traffic, JES Surveys, Klaruw RMS Ltd, Highway Safety Developments, Lafarge Contracting, MACS Solutions Ltd, Pike Signals Ltd, Preformed Markings Ltd, RMS Ltd, The Farrow System, VMS Ltd, plus many more.
