Faversham House Group scoops two top awards
Faversham House Group (FHG), the magazine publisher and exhibition organiser, has won two top awards at the Best of Business Awards: Best Employer and Winner of Winners across all the categories of entries.
Unanimously voted Best Employer by the judges, FHG picked up the Award in recognition of the training and development offered to its staff, in-house appraisal procedures and its management systems.
One of the judges, Jeremy Booth at Catherine Johnstone Recruitment and previous category winner commented: "FHG excelled in all areas of the Best Employer category. A strong and conscious commitment to understanding and fulfilling the needs of their staff is balanced wisely with sound, workable and effective policies, initiatives and business decisions ... FHG has managed to produce a culture and environment in which employees feel valued and empowered to drive this very successful business forward.
"As a result of the many measures and initiatives that have been implemented, FHG has successfully navigated its way through testing times and recorded significant growth and a measurable impact on their bottom line as a direct result of their efforts ... they have developed a culture where employees flourish."
FHG was further delighted to win the Winner of Winners category, in which all the judges chose one outstanding entrant for its overall contribution across criteria including strategy, vision, management, commitment to customer service, commitment to learning and best use of innovation.
Jeremy Booth continued, "As judges, we were particularly impressed with FHG's overall commitment to the successful integration, training, development, welfare and recognition of their staff. Employees are actively consulted and encouraged to come up with fresh, innovative ideas to develop and grow the business and a feeling of empowerment and enthusiasm for the company and its objectives was immediately evident in all employees that we interviewed". FHG's Chief Executive John Gould commented: "To win not one but two Awards in one night was a great achievement. It's a reflection of the quality of the people working at FHG and we are so proud of them and their achievements."
FHG was nominated for the award by a member of staff. The award was based on a formal application procedure followed by random interviews with numerous staff members.
